Our Mission

People’s Puppet Fest celebrates the transformative power of puppetry as a vibrant tool for creative expression and community building. We champion intentional curation that serves the diverse needs of artists and audiences, prioritizing radical inclusion by centering Chicago’s BIPOC and marginalized artists and communities. We strive to provide financial affordability and equitable access and are committed to creating a truly inclusive and barrier-free experience for all. This experience will be achieved by providing a sliding scale ticketed and free programming supported by physical and sensory accessibility considerations. We foster youth empowerment through puppetry arts and encourage the free expression of puppetry in all its forms, especially experimental and innovative works, creating a welcoming and accessible space for all.
